Herbal Apothecary: Topical Remedies for First Aid
Embrace the healing gifts of the land! Learn to identify, harvest, process, and prepare many local plants that are useful for healing skin and relieving pain, and inflammation. We will create a mini-first aid kit with salves, topical spray, and herbal powders. Participants will receive a curriculum and tips on incorporating plant knowledge and medicine making into their own teaching environment. Taught by members of the Tend, Gather and Grow team.
Details & RSVPCultural Ecosystems: Saltwater Beaches
Learn about saltwater beach ecosystems that Pacific Northwest regional tribes have cultivated since time immemorial. Many children grow up thinking that humans are harmful to the land. Through learning about cultural ecosystems, youth see how people can promote biodiversity and well-being through conscientious stewardship. We will start the day at GRuB with an overview lesson and then will head to a local beach to learn about clam gardens and traditional uses of saltwater plants and creatures. Participants receive a curriculum that fits best with grades 6–12 learning levels but can be adapted for younger children and adults. We will provide light snacks, coffee and tea; bring your own lunch. Taught by members of the Tend, Gather and Grow team.
Details & RSVPCultural Ecosystems: Food Forests and Urban Landscapes

We will provide light snacks, coffee and tea; bring your own lunch. Taught by members of the Tend, Gather and Grow team.
